A self-taught taxidermist, a former clothing company CEO and a teen who raised $400,000 for a homeless shelter have one thing in common — they’re all members of Willamette’s newest cohort.

The College of Liberal Arts has 394 first-year students and 36 transfer students representing 30 states and three countries. Academically, this class has an average GPA of 3.82, an SAT of 1282 and an ACT of 28, similar to previous years. It includes a high school equestrian club president, a member of the Alohi Polynesian Dance Academy and someone who beat leukemia and ran a triathlon to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The College of Law welcomes 130 students this year — the largest class since 2012 — and for the fourth time in its history, over half of students are female. Student ages range from 21 to 56, and they come from all walks of life, including an actress, a 911 dispatcher and a commercial hazelnut farmer.
Atkinson Graduate School of Management has a total of 96 students and two exchange students from Denmark. The class includes students who served in the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps as well as seven international students from Saudi Arabia, India, Georgia, South Korea and Guadeloupe Island.
