The new Portland Chinatown Museum opened recently with an exhibition entitled Beyond the Gate which features two animated video installations by Rose Bond, Department Head of our Animated Arts program. Ming Panorama and CCBA animate drawings from China’s 300-year Ming Dynasty, celebrated for its literature and arts.
The exhibition offers a revealing look at the stories behind Portland's Chinatown. Bond had worked with exhibition designer Carey Wong on the original exhibition at the Oregon Historical Society. The new Portland Chinatown Museum offers the exhibition a permanent home.
