On June 4, 2018, the The Ford Family Foundation announced the names of five Oregon visual artists who have been recognized as this year's Hallie Ford Fellows. Among those named was PNCA alumnus Demian DinéYazhi´'13.
Each year The Hallie Ford Fellowship is awarded to outstanding artists by a jury of arts professions. Fellows are chosen in acknowledgement of their talent, the demonstration of excellence in their work and the potential for significant advancement in their practices of art.
Artists Avantika Bawa, Jessica Jackson Hutchins, and Elizabeth Malaska of Portland, and Bruce Burris of Corvallis join Demian as this year's pool of recipients chosen from over 150 applicants. Each will receive a $25,000 unrestricted award and will join 30 of their peers selected over the last eight years as Hallie Ford Fellows.
