Atkinson Graduate School of Management launched a podcast this spring designed to highlight the talent and expertise that make it the top MBA program in Oregon.
“We’ve got so many fascinating and super smart folks working on amazing projects and research both here on campus and within our alumni community across the world,” said AGSM Director of Marketing Communication Andrew Hickey. “Instead of telling these stories on a page, we wanted to use a more compelling, portable medium.”
The podcast, called “Atkinson Archive Podcast,” has two episodes to date with plans to continually produce episodes throughout the year. The goal is to keep each episode relatively short but packed with as much information as possible.
“The name plays on the idea that we’re creating an archive for our community with each episode we produce,” Hickey said. “We wanted to keep each one to around 30 minutes — somewhere around the average time it takes for people to commute to work.”
The first episode featured longtime AGSM faculty member Mike Hand, professor of applied statistics and information systems. The guest for the second episode was Assistant Professor of Operations Management Andrew Kach.
“It made way too much sense to kick this whole thing off with Mike Hand. He’s been at Atkinson about as long as Atkinson’s been a school,” Hickey said. “Andrew Kach packed about as much as humanly possible about supply chain and operations management into just under a half hour.”
Future episodes will feature AGSM students, alumni and other members of the Willamette University community, as well as other Atkinson faculty.
Currently, you can find episodes of Atkinson Archive Podcast at willamette.edu/go/podcast. The podcast will soon be available on iTunes.
