Meet the team- Sous Chef Kory Williams

Raised in Camano Island, Washington, Kory is a proud member of the Tulalip Tribe. Growing up, his dad was a commercial fisherman so food, especially fresh seafood, was an integral part of his life. His father inspired him by turning seemingly empty cupboards into family feasts. After losing his father, he began to cook as a way to feel close to him. As a young man, he traveled to Japan and ate his way across the country, falling in love with the cuisine.

He attended the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, CA. When presented with the unique opportunity to join the Bon Appétit family, he entered the world of catering for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. After three wonderful years, he and his wife moved to Salem to start a family of their own and were overjoyed when he was able to join the Bon Appétit family at Willamette University.
