Activity Expo
We had an absolute blast at the Activity Expo! It was amazing to chat with so many students and hear all your fantastic ideas and enthusiasm. We especially loved all the great feedback—your energy keeps us inspired! And hey, were you the one who suggested a baking club? Because we LOVED that idea, and guess what? We’re making it happen! Meet the team- General Manager Eric Thomas
Eric’s journey in the restaurant industry began at 14 when he was hired as a dishwasher at the local pizza parlor near his childhood home in Michigan. He quickly moved up to pizza maker and was closing the business alone by the age of 16. In 2007, he moved to Santa Barbara, California where his management career began. After holding management positions at several restaurants in Santa Barbara, Eric became a multi-unit general manager for a prominent restaurant group, running Café Luck, a fine-dining French bistro, and Joe’s Cafe – a Santa Barbara institution since 1928 – simultaneously. In 2012, Eric moved to his wife’s home state of Oregon.
As a self-proclaimed germaphobe, Eric places a high value on sanitation standards in restaurants. Eric joined the Bon Appétit team in January 2018 as the director of operations at Lewis & Clark College. He is excited to join the community at Willamette and further Bon Appétit’s mission to serve healthy, locally sourced food to all who dine on campus.
Eric lives with his wife, daughter, and dog. In addition to being a huge fan of Detroit sports teams, he enjoys fishing and cooking in his spare time.
