This past weekend, 3 of Willamette’s a cappella groups competed in the 2025 Varsity Vocals International Championship of Collegiate A cappella (ICCA) West Quarterfinals that were held at the Elsinore Theatre in Salem. The Willamette groups who competed included Headband, Tandem, and Up Top.
Congratulations to Ash Scott and Derec Gregory of Headband, who were awarded the Outstanding Arrangement award for the entire set and for the group Headband for their 1st place finish. The group Divisi of the University of Oregon took second place, and the Green Note from Portland State University took third. The top two teams of the West Quarterfinals will compete in the Semifinals to be held in Redwood City, CA in March.
