Attention Students, Faculty, and Staff - If you are interested politics and local community conversations, consider attending a meeting of the City Club of Salem. This community organization is celebrating 56 years of encouraging civic discourse in the Salem/Keizer area. Normally, attendance is by membership or a $10 admission, but thanks to the Office of Civic Engagement, your entrance fee is free to you! That's right, we'll pick up the tab! Meetings are approximately every other week, including Nov. 8 and 22, from noon-1 PM. If this falls during lunchtime for you, you're welcome to bring a sack lunch.
Please consider registering in advance so they can have an accurate headcount. But if you forget, don't let that preclude you from attending. Use the link below to see the upcoming event details and links to RSVP. Club meetings are just across the street from the Salem Willamette Campus at the Willamette Heritage Center.
Upcoming topics include:
-Nov. 8: Courtney Place Veterans Housing - Fostering a Culture of Independence and Dignity
-Nov 22: Winners and Losers - Making Sense of the 2024 Election Results (with Dr. Ed Dover, Professor, Western Oregon University)
