Career Development is launching a brand new Career Course in the Spring 2025 semester. We're so excited to share this course with WU students, and highly encourage students to register.

Are you looking to start your career journey this Spring Semester? Register for Career Development's BRAND NEW Career Course: Career Quest for Sophomores (IDS 299)

Career Quest for Sophomores (IDS 299) is an interactive and introspective career course for students in their second year at Willamette. Career Quest for Sophomores provides many helpful resources, including:

  • Opportunities to learn from WU Alumni and industry representatives.
  • Tips for engaging in effective networking practices and a chance to flex these skills at a Networking Dinner & Panel.
  • Opportunity to complete career assessments to aid in intentional career exploration.
  • Tools to explore the connection between majors and careers, including linear and nonlinear pathways.

"What can I get from IDS 299?"

  1. Articulation of career interests, personality, skills, etc.
  2. Evaluation of the potential workplace fit, based on awareness of career values.
  3. Connection with potential career mentors and techniques for maintaining these relationships over time.
  4. Tools to build a plan for intentional experiential learning in order to gain applied experience in disciplines and careers of interest.

Registration Requirements:

Students must be entering their second year at Willamette in order to be eligible to enroll in IDS 299. Note: First-year students who have achieved sophomore status due to amount of completed credits are not eligible to enroll in this course).
