Baccalaureate is a ceremony of celebration and reflection on the communal journey of the graduating class. It is annually and traditionally held the day prior to commencement. This year's event will be held May 18, 5–7 p.m. At Willamette, the service is planned by senior students, supported by the University Chaplain, and created to be inclusive, so that students and families of all faith traditions, spiritual orientations, and world views feel welcomed, engaged and connected. With a variety of readings, music, reflections and a special cording ceremony, Baccalaureate is meant to honor and celebrate the graduates. The purpose of the service is to express gratitude to students, families, and all those who have influenced the graduates over the past four years. Stay tuned for an announcement of special guests to join us this year.
