Join us for a mesmerizing journey of resilience, camaraderie, and the uncharted waters of life as Willamette University Theatre proudly presents the world premiere of the musical "In the Deep."
Directed by the Willamette alum Carly Christensen BA'16, "In the Deep" weaves a tale set against the backdrop of an ordinary day in a tranquil college town. When a turbulent storm wreaks havoc, a tight-knit group of friends is drawn together at a cabin in the woods. As they navigate the aftermath of destruction, they are confronted with the question, "When the water is over your head, who can pull you up?"
This new musical also features Willamette graduates as its creators, book and lyrics by E. M. Lewis BA'94, and music composed by Clarence Roscoe McDonald BA’23, coming together to craft an immersive experience that will captivate audiences from Oct. 26 to Nov. 12, 2023.
This groundbreaking musical is an exploration of the themes of friendship, family, and the indomitable human spirit, in the face of unfamiliar and turbulent challenges. With a creative team spanning three generations of Willamette University alumni, "In the Deep" promises to be a testament to the enduring artistic legacy of the institution.
