I am pleased to announce that Lauren Carlson (she/her), MSN, FNP, NP-C, DipACLM is the new Director of Health Services/Lead Nurse Practitioner at Bishop Wellness Center on the Salem campus.
Lauren joins Willamette after more than a decade of experience as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and more recently as a college health Nurse Practitioner. She is also proud to be a Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Passionate about health equity, social justice, lifestyle medicine, and relationship building, she looks forward to empowering students to be active agents in their overall health and well-being, and building lasting connections with the Bearcat community.
Though she has been a Pacific Northwesterner for over 20 years, her sunny Southern California roots run deep. She loves any opportunity to get outside on a sunny day. She loves to tent camp with her family in the summer. In the winter, she loves to spend her weekends on the slopes snowboarding, trying (and usually failing) to keep up with her husband and kids. A self-proclaimed soccer mom, she enjoys cheering her kids on at various sports events throughout the year. Her idea of a relaxing evening involves curling up with a good book and a fuzzy, warm blanket.
Lauren will join Bishop Wellness Center later this month and will be part-time through the fall semester. She will be full-time beginning in January 2024. We will share more specifics about her work schedule once we get that finalized.
