Dear students,
We’d like to direct you to some important policies and resources as the semester progresses to help you have a successful student experience. Please read below and see the important links for more information. Additionally, you should review the respective catalog for your college or school. As a large community of scholars, these policies help give transparency around expectations and help us remain in compliance with regulations.
First, it will be helpful for you to be familiar with University policies and the Student Code of Conduct, both linked below. The Student Code, more than a manual of rules, identifies expectations, policies, procedures, and rights established to enhance the educational and personal growth of all Willamette students. Please note that the Student Code of Conduct applies to all students at every level, across all schools, whether residing on or off campus.
Second, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sex and gender discrimination within higher education. The Not Alone website linked below provides information and resources on the Sexual Misconduct policy for students.
Third, in compliance with the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, you will find the Alcohol and Drug Abuse policy and resources, located on the University Policies website and linked below. This policy statement includes campus and federal consequences for violations, as well as resources. More information about the University Alcohol Policy is located on the University Portal and linked in the Student Code.
If you have questions or concerns about student responsibilities and expectations, or any of the information in the Student Handbook or University policies website, please contact the Office of Student Affairs student-affairs-office@willamette.edu or at 503-370-6447.
Thank you for doing your part to stay informed,
Olivia Muñoz
Dean of Students for Community Care and Inclusion
