Juliane Carla Corpus will head up Willamette’s multicultural affairs work starting May 15.

Willamette University welcomes Juliane Carla Corpus (she/they), new Director of Engagement and Inclusion on May 15. The role (formerly Director of Multicultural Affairs) will develop intercultural engagement through programming, training, and cultural student organization support.

Corpus has worked to create inclusive environments that promote diversity and social justice. For the last five years, she has worked in housing and first year experience at Lewis & Clark and at California State University, Chico. Previously, Corpus worked at Chapman University's Cross-Cultural Center during their inaugural year of opening. There, she hosted affinity group discussions, and worked on teams for heritage month programming and cultural graduations.

Corpus graduated from Chapman University with a B.S. in Kinesiology and a M.A. in Leadership Development with an emphasis in Higher Education. Her research focused on student athlete identity development. She has served as a facilitator for social justice and leadership retreats.

Outside of work, you'll probably find Corpus watching copious amounts of reality TV with her dog, Sandwiches, and crocheting her latest project. If not at home, she's out attempting to backpack, watch the San Jose Sharks, or at the gym lifting heavy things.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Corpus made the move to Oregon in 2020. She is thrilled to join Willamette University and to build new opportunities with the campus community.
