For more than three years, Newton has provided specialized engagement services to graduate alumni from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management and the College of Law as the Director of Graduate Alumni Engagement. She has also been an instrumental leader in helping launch engagement strategies for alumni of the Pacific Northwest College of Art upon our merger last fall.
Not only has Newton served her program areas well, she has also led as an Advancement and University-wide citizen. Her early accomplishments included taking the lead on Willamette’s first comprehensive alumni survey, shaping the way Willamette delivers engagement services to alumni, parents and friends of the university. She has also assumed key roles in several major university events, most notably Willamette's annual Commencement exercises. Most recently, she also served as Alumni & Parent Engagement team lead.
In her new role, Newton will oversee the Alumni & Parent Engagement department and supervise the department's team members. In close partnership with Tyler Reich BA’06, Associate Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director of University Relations, she will lead the department in the development and implementation of strategies that serve the growing and ever complex constituencies of alumni, parents, and friends–bringing them closer to the university and to each other. “Tiffany is a dedicated professional who has great compassion for her work. She turns plans into action and has raised the bar for our engagement efforts. I’m thrilled she will take on this new role with Willamette,” said Reich.
Newton is a graduate of Humboldt State University and holds an M.S.W. in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore. Prior to joining Willamette, she held positions in higher education for more than a decade.
