Rosa Phoenix Wang is from Phoenix, AZ. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Individualized Studies from New York University in 1996. At NYU, her interdisciplinary, multicultural education encompassed world mythologies, philosophies and cultures and the visual and literary arts.
Rosa began her arts career in New York, working at contemporary art galleries and book publishing houses. After moving to San Francisco, Rosa served on the Board of the NorCal Graphic Artists Guild, where she helped organize career development, education and networking events.
Rosa has spent the last decade working in community art education. In her hometown of Phoenix, she founded and operated a small community art school. Combining her interests in art, mindfulness and complementary healing modalities, she has facilitated holistic art experiences for people in therapeutic and wellness settings. As an artist-activist, she lends her skills in art, teaching and organizing to support environmental justice and healing of the Earth.
In 2018, Rosa moved to Portland and began training and practicing in the field of creativity coaching. She has authored chapters in two books about creativity coaching: "Inside Creativity Coaching" and "The Creativity Coaching Workbook for Coaches and Creatives."
Rosa draws on her coaching and mentoring skills and professional experience to guide art, media and communications students in their career decisions.
Rosa enjoys hiking, potlucks, creating nature mandalas and spinning poi.
