Willamette students transformed a tool more commonly used to move in and out of dorms into an art gallery as they hosted a pop-up exhibit installed in a UHaul in downtown Salem.

The Body Collective, a newly-formed artist group, presented its first show: 1.1 The Conception on Oct. 17 and 18. Showcasing art from artists in Salem, the pop-up gallery presented two different shows surrounding the ideas of human and animal nature. The art spans mediums including acrylic and oil paintings, collage, photography, prints, and cyanotypes.

The collective, initiated by artist and Visiting Professor of Studio Art Holden Head, and run by Willamette artists, was founded to help young artists gain experience in the logistics of showcasing work, curating, and running galleries.
