Nationally recognized authors and faculty members visit PNCA every summer and winter to foster student writing at any stage of the process. Whether students are preparing poetry for publication or simply cultivating the craft, they experiment with a variety of artistic mediums and forms of writing to achieve their personal goals.

Guest artists include LaTanya McQueen, a 2022 National Endowment of the Arts grant winner, Alejandro de Acosta, founder of micropress mufa::poema in Austin, Texas, and Vi Khi Nao, whose latest collection of poems, “Fish Carcass,” published this year.

The summer residency runs June 22-July 2. All faculty talks and readings are open to the public and can be streamed through PNCA’s YouTube channel. The July 1 event at the Independent Publishing Resource Center in Portland requires signing up
