Willamette University is among 126 colleges in the western United States highlighted by The Princeton Review for academic excellence.
The popular guidebook’s latest list, “2022 Best Colleges: Region by Region,” featured a total 654 colleges it recommends within five regions. The “Best in the West” section featured colleges within 15 states — Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
The Princeton Review’s school profiles also included ratings covering several metrics, from admission selectivity to quality of life and satisfaction with financial aid. Scores ranged from 60 to 99 based on institutional and student data.
Willamette scored high in the following areas:
- Academic rating: 93/99
- Professors interesting rating (whether instructors are considered “good teachers”): 94/99
- Professors accessible rating: 95/99
- Quality of life rating: 90/99
Evaluations of the colleges were primarily based on academic strength, though The Princeton Review also incorporated information from college counselors, administrators and students.
