Opportunities for meaningful connections with faculty make Willamette University one of the best universities nationwide in this area, according to a 2019 Wall Street Journal-affiliated college ranking.
Of nearly 1,000 colleges and universities listed, student satisfaction with faculty interaction placed Willamette at No. 8. Students ranked their institutions on the number of opportunities to interact with faculty during lectures, feedback sessions or activities outside of the classroom.
The indicator is one of many used by the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings to determine a university’s overall ranking and gauge student success.
Drawing from about 200,000 current college students, the ranking measures how well universities perform in areas students care about most, including graduation outcomes and course content.
The Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education, a higher education data provider known for its global university rankings, began the U.S. rankings in 2017.
