Willamette University is “the place where you can grow as a student, leader and person as you pursue your passions,” said a student in the 2020 edition of “Fiske Guide to Colleges.”
The guide features Willamette as one of the best schools for students, parents, and guidance counselors to consider during their college searches.
One student praised Willamette’s faculty members for making students their top priority, while another student appreciated the collaborative atmosphere on campus. The guide also noted the university’s commitment to service: “Willamette students remain true to the school motto, ‘Not unto ourselves alone are we born.’”
The guide praised the university’s academics, numerous undergraduate research opportunities, comprehensive study abroad program, diverse social life, and dual degrees that integrate the liberal arts and professional education.
Fiske also highlighted Willamette’s proximity to the Oregon State Capitol and Salem Hospital also provides students with numerous off-campus learning experiences.
”Willamette is unabashedly itself,” a student noted. “Community members from all backgrounds feel very comfortable being themselves and embracing who they are.”
The 36th edition of the popular college guide examines more than 300 universities in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, and Ireland.
