The latest edition of Princeton Review’s popular guidebook, “The Best 384 Colleges,” names Willamette University as one of the nation’s top colleges. Ranked as well among the nation’s environmentally friendly and sustainable colleges, Willamette is also listed among the “Best Value Colleges” and “Best Western Colleges.”
The editors highlight Willamette’s cocurricular opportunities and supportive community. Students describe engaged faculty and staff, with one senior noting, “There is no one — not even our president — who doesn’t have open office hours, or isn’t willing to make an appointment to meet with a student.”
One student described an active campus life saying, “There is a huge population that is involved in clubs on campus, anything from soccer club to juggling club or knitting club.”
Another student noted that staff and faculty are dedicated to students’ career success saying, “Professors are very willing to help students find internships, jobs and research opportunities.”
Willamette has a long history of appearing in Princeton Review’s annual guide, which profiles about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges.
In addition to detailed profiles, the guide includes colleges’ rating scores in eight categories, including academics, quality of life and admissions. The rankings are based on a survey of 138,000 students attending the colleges.
