Roughly 600 people gathered on the North Lawn on Saturday to witness the closing of Willamette University’s 175th anniversary celebration with the relighting the university’s grove of 75-year-old giant sequoias. Festivities included a presentation from Salem Mayor Chuck Bennett ’70, carols sung and played by the Department of Music, roasted marshmallows, a special dinner at Goudy and a family concert in Smith Auditorium.
