A two-time Presidential Service award-winner and a roller derby player are among hundreds of students who arrived at Willamette University this fall.

The College of Liberal Arts has 450 first-year students and 31 transfer students representing 33 states and three countries. Academically, this class has an average GPA of 3.81, an SAT of 1290 and an ACT of 28, similar to previous years. It includes an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a performer from the Northwest Lion and Dragon Dance Association and a student who has conducted research on nanoparticle toxicity.
The College of Law has 111 students this year — more than half female — representing 28 undergraduate majors and 20 states. Prior to law school, students worked in fields as diverse as the entertainment industry and legislative offices. Nearly half of the students are from Oregon.
The Atkinson Graduate School of Management has 64 students and five exchange students from France and Denmark. The class includes three students who have a background in family-owned businesses, one who served in the Peace Corps and two who joined the military, as well as others from fields ranging from rhetoric to bioengineering.
