CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT
One of the many opportunities created by the Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs role is uncovering and creating more connections between Willamette’s curricular and co-curricular programs.
Over the past year I’ve enjoyed conversations with colleagues across campus on how to leverage our resources to create a more interconnected experience for students.
That’s why I’m pleased to announce a name change for Campus Life – which will now be known as the Office of Student Affairs. Along with this divisional name change comes a title change for Ed Whipple, who is now Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students.
These office and title changes put Willamette more in line with similar institutions and signals our ongoing collaboration between academic and student affairs. It also helps Willamette live up to its reputation as a tightly knit learning community.
As we reported during the fall semester, the close proximity of the Student Affairs and Academic Affairs offices on the 3rd floor of the University Center is meant to provide a single point of contact for students with specific questions and to connect them with the resources they need – and the Office of Student Affairs serves as an ideal place for that initial contact.
Thank you all for your continued support and collaboration.
Sincerely,
Carol Long
Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs
