Willamette University Atkinson Graduate School of Management has once again been included in Poets&Quants’ MBA Ranking, moving up three spots on the list from its position last year.
Currently at number 77 out of Poets&Quants’ top 100 MBA programs, the Willamette University MBA is one of only two schools in the Pacific Northwest region to be ranked on the list.
“Our continued ranking in the top tier is a testament to the hard work of the entire Willamette University MBA community — students, alumni, faculty, staff, employers and friends — of which we should be proud,” Dean and JELD-WEN Professor of Free Enterprise Debra J. Ringold said.
Poets&Quants, a publication focusing on graduate business education, formulates its top 100 list of MBA programs by combining scores from the world’s five most influential business school rankings into one comprehensive, composite score for each school. The list does not simply present the averages of these different ranking scores — rather, Poets&Quants assigns different weights to each ranking based on how much influence the publication perceives them to have (Bloomberg Businessweek carries 15 percent weight, Forbes carries 25 percent, and so on).
According to Poets&Quants, the list “is far more stable — and reliable — than most rankings published elsewhere, taking into account a massive wealth of quantitative and qualitative data captured in these major lists, from surveys of corporate recruiters, MBA graduates, deans and faculty publication records to median GPA and GMAT scores of entering students as well as the latest salary and employment statistics of alumni.”
