Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper appointed Willamette Law alumna Sharon Holbrook JD’01 to district judge for the Colorado District Court in the 17th Judicial District. The appointment is effective Oct. 17.
Since 2011, Holbrook has served as a District Court magistrate for the 17th Judicial District. She completed rotations in the domestic, criminal, civil and, most recently, juvenile divisions. She has also lectured and taught extensively on child sexual and physical abuse and abusive head trauma in infants.
Holbrook is the president of the Colorado Magistrates Association and previously served on the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors and as a past president of the Adams Broomfield Bar Association. Before she was appointed to the bench, Holbrook worked for 10 years in the Adams County District Attorney’s Office. She received her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Utah in 1997 and her JD from Willamette in 2001.
