Willamette University claimed victory over Pacific University in the Third Annual Battle of the Beasts, a weeklong donor challenge from October 19-25. Last year, the Pacific University Boxers beat Willamette, so this year the Bearcats were back with a vengeance.
Not only did Willamette come out victorious, with over 50 more donors than Pacific, Willamette also more than doubled the number of donors who gave this year compared to last year. Donors had the opportunity to give to what mattered most to them — from supporting Bearcat athletics, to scholarships, to student activities.
Over the course of the week of the challenge, Bearcat volleyball, football and men’s soccer all had matches against the Boxers. Volleyball and men’s soccer both came out with wins, while football fought tooth and nail and lost a close game in the final minutes. The success of the 2015 Battle of the Beasts could not have happened without the help of dedicated alumni and parents.
A special thanks goes out to all who participated in the challenge this year and supported Willamette's scholar-athletes and students.
