Why does ISIS target historical sites in the Middle East? How can we respond? What's stopping us?

On Nov. 5 at Willamette University, J. Paul Getty Trust CEO James Cuno will discuss ISIS' campaign of cultural destruction. The free, public talk will address the threat to the world’s cultural heritage and the challenges ISIS poses to an international response.

“ISIS and the Threat to Our Cultural Heritage: What Can the World Do?” is part of a series of related university events: “Taking the Long View: Art and Cultural Heritage in an Age of Terror.”

A book signing will follow Cuno’s lecture, which will be in Rogers Music Center.
