From artists to musicians, hundreds of visitors are converging on campus through July.
Read on to learn more about the summer conferences planned:
- On campus until July 3 is the first session of Willamette University’s own Willamette Academy. These seniors are working diligently on their college applications. Look for these fantastic students in Ford, Smullin and Eaton for classes and in the outdoor spaces for community-building activities.
- Young Musicians and Artists (YMA) camp is here through July 18. They’re an energetic and lively camp full of talented participants ranging from fourth- through 12th-graders. You can see them throughout the day either playing on the quad, or hear them practice their music lessons in Smith Auditorium. This year YMA celebrates its 50th anniversary as an institution, and its 41st year at Willamette University.
- The True Acting Institute is here for its fifth year, training drama teachers and others who are serious about their craft. This program of 21 participants works almost entirely in the Lee M. Pelton Theatre.
The first session of this intense training program runs through July 5.
