The American Society of International Law (ASIL) has chosen professor Symeon Symeonides' latest book for a prestigious 2015 Certificate of Merit. This is the fourth award for Symeonides' publications.
The book, one of only three to be honored, is entitled Codifying Choice of Law Around the World: An International Comparative Analysis (Oxford University Press, 2014). The award characterizes the book as a "masterful" and "indispensable" book that will "reset fundamental methodological and theoretical debates in private international law."
Established in 1906, ASIL is the preeminent scholarly society in the field of public international law. This is the first time ASIL honors a book in the field of private international law.
