On April 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Rogers Music Center, Willamette University’s Grace Goudy Distinguished Artists Series will feature piano duo Anderson & Roe.
From the Juilliard School to MTV and Buzzfeed, Anderson & Roe have earned critical and popular acclaim for their energized performances and modern take on classical music. On their YouTube channel, the duo performs their original compositions, including their take on Vivaldi, Michael Jackson, and Star Wars.
About Anderson & Roe’s performance of “Billy Jean,” NPR wrote, “Bold and brash, full of unexpected twists, Anderson and Roe's interpretation pulls off an expertly rendered, elegantly pianistic moonwalk.”
The duo’s Grace Goudy Distinguished Artists Series performance includes Mozart, Radiohead, Ligeti, Ravel and more.
“Anderson and Roe are not only artists of the highest caliber, they are making immense strides in the reshaping of the traditional concert experience,” said Jean-David Coen, series co-director and artist-in-residence at Willamette.
The duo will teach a master class to Willamette students on March 31 from 7-9 p.m. in Rogers Music Center. It’s free and open to the public.
