All supplies provided, including a sketchbook for each participant. You are welcome to bring your own sketchbook if you have a favorite.
Would you like a new approach to enjoying art at the museum? Grab a pencil and join us as we learn to sketch in the gallery. Artist Sonia Allen will guide you through drawing foundations (don't tense up!) and fun practice projects – beginners welcome. We'll explore the museum's collections and practice interpreting what we see. Join a long-standing tradition of studying the masters in a non-threatening environment.

Instructor: Sonia Allen
Artist Sonia Allen has taught locally since 1999, and has traveled overseas to teach art in Brazil and Turkey. In addition to facilitating Family Art Days and Docent Workshops at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, Sonia teaches for the Salem Art Association Artist in the Schools program and the Salem-Keizer Talented and Gifted Enrichment program. Sonia teaches group and private art instruction and loves printmaking, watercolor, and sketchbook art journaling. Her volunteer work finds her leading art activities at Love Reins Ranch, a local non-profit equine therapy ranch for people with special needs.
