For one dynamic week, PNCA's campus was enlivened by the work and insight of five international writers from University of Iowa's "International Writing Program":http://iwp.uiowa.edu/index.html.
The five writers included: Fflur Dafydd, a novelist, literary critic and musician from Wales; Soheil Najm, a poet from Iraq; Osman Conteh, a novelist from Sierra Leone; Fedosy Santaella, a fiction writer from Venezuela; and Lijia Zhang, a nonfiction writer from China.
Along with engaging the community during a free and public lecture on October 5 at the College, the group participated in a range of literary events in the Portland area, including "Wordstock":http://www.wordstock.com.
PNCA would like to thank PNCA faculty member and writer-in-residence Barry Sanders for organizing the visit and the community as a whole for participating.
