Pacific Northwest College of Art is offering an affordable and accessible option for transfer students who want to earn a BFA degree.

Students who meet the qualifications are eligible for a $5,000 scholarship (in addition to their merit based admissions scholarship ranging from $15,000-$23,000), each guaranteed for up to three years at PNCA. They are also guaranteed credit transfer, as long as students follow the transfer pathway in the agreement.

Students must transfer from one of the following schools:

  • Central Oregon Community College in Bend
  • Chemeketa Community College in Salem
  • Clark College in Vancouver, Washington
  • Clackamas Community College in Oregon City
  • Clatsop Community College in Astoria
  • Columbia Gorge Community College in The Dalles
  • Lane Community College in Eugene
  • Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham

The Transfer Partner Scholarship will be offered in addition to merit-based scholarships, saving students between $20,000 and $28,000 per year. And that doesn’t include additional PNCA admissions scholarships, grants or loans, which can also be combined with the transfer scholarship.

Institutions throughout the region — including North Seattle College, Santa Monica College, Spokane Falls Community College in Washington, Portland Community College, Saddleback College in Mission Viejo and Mesa Community College — are fast becoming partner schools, making those students eligible for the transfer scholarship, too, said PNCA Dean of Admissions Anna Miltenberger

“Empowering students to reimagine what art and design can do in the world is part of our mission at PNCA, and we want to make that pathway as accessible as possible,” she said. “These new agreements represent how strongly that belief is shared among our community college partners, and how much we recognize affordability as a priority.”

PNCA also strongly encourages students to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form, which qualifies them for an additional $3,000 PNCA grant every year for up to four years, depending on expected family contribution.
