In recognition of the ongoing impact of the pandemic, Willamette University joins Oregon’s community colleges, private nonprofit colleges and universities, and the state’s eight public universities in stating:
“We are committed to ensuring that our applicants are considered fairly in light of the educational disruption they have experienced. We are prepared to take this disruption into account for any impacted student over the next several years. No student will be deemed ineligible for consideration on the basis of grading or curriculum adjustments made by their schools, and beyond the student’s control.
"We continue to encourage students to take rigorous high school coursework when possible, and at a level appropriate for their academic abilities, so as to prepare them for college work. We remain committed to considering both performance and future potential as we strive to enroll students who reflect the diverse communities we are proud to serve.”
Willamette University’s motto, “Not unto ourselves alone are we born,” guides every consideration of the education we strive to provide and encapsulates our belief and commitment to putting students at the center of our innovative, interdisciplinary and interactive college experience.
